FABRICS

BOUCLE(S)

A roving yarn spirals around a twisted core, leaving a wavy texture and creates a boucle yarn. An overlay will set the wavy structure.

Differences in spiralling rates make many and various loop, boucle and gimp yarns. Energetic yarns.

Their characteristic texture is usually associated with yarns composed of wool and synthetic, though, silk, viscosa and other fibres create their own particular textural variations and fabric characteristics.

On these pages, unless otherwise specified, Boucle, is used to define a stocking stitch fabric with a main component composed of wool and synthetic, usually, with a small portion of luxurious kid mohair.
